Robert Hitz Jr is a SOC Team Lead and Senior Security Engineer who works directly with the SOC team to assist with the configuration/deployment/monitoring of various Enterprise Level environments. Additionally, Robert has been getting more involved with the Development team in creating custom analytical reports and automation.
Before working with DefendEdge, Robert attended the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Science for Information Science and Technology. After graduating in 2019, Robert continued his education and graduated in 2021 from DePaul University with a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Networking and Infrastructure. Robert sees each day as an exciting opportunity to learn something new which he uses to try to help the organization’s growth goals. Robert has had many experiences that stand out to him. With each one, both good and bad, he has learned that no matter what, you never give up and in staying committed to that, anything can be achieved when you put your mind to it. Robert currently has his certification in Fortinet’s NSE 4. In Robert’s spare time, he enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors. He loves being able to escape and go to the archery range.
